Pantone Colors of the Year: Design Trends for 2021 (pt 5)

Ultimate Gray (17-5104) and Illuminating (13-0647), shades selected for dependability and warmth, are the christened Colors of 2021. Meant to reflect color trends in design, fashion and even architecture, this year’s colors unabashedly speak to the current mindset.  The irresolution and ambiguity of grayness uplifted with hopeful, expectant yellow.

Our title sequence for Animal Planet’s A Groundhog Day Story employs this color collaboration.  Shades of pewter, slate, and fossil are indefinite, yet calming and composed.  The solid, dependable elements and rock are reliable as the Groundhog’s appearance.  Emblematic of optimism and imbuing energy, dandelion and bumblebee radiate light.  This bright yellow hue appears to enhance intuition and resourcefulness, along with encapsulating the positivity we need right now.

Enjoy 6 more weeks of winter… Thanks, Phil
