The Sound of Color: Blue

Most often, color is considered by wavelength. However some research indicates color can be more accurately calculated by frequency, a measure of sound. This begs the question: Does sound reverberate color in the way light reflects color? And if so, how can this influence your creative?

Researchers have documented loud noises, strong odors and even strong tastes can make the eye more sensitive to certain colors. Blue is noted to sound distant, compared to a flute or violin. While ultramarine sounds darker and deeper, in a minor key. Here you experience the distant, dark sound of blue in our atmospheric map for Contact. The point of view is reticent observation. The sound design matches this emotion with enigmatic high frequency blue noise.
