The Colors of Winter

Draw inspiration from the arctic weather and embrace icy hues for colors that ring in winter.

Our open for Alaska begins with a backdrop of warm neutrals in alabaster and charcoal. The settling snow beneath the mountain signals the season. In Alaska, winter is both a quiet, white hibernation and a barren and foreboding dark challenge. Shell white showcases the purity, goodness, and illumination famous this time of year. Soot black portrays the mystery and magic of equal acclaim, along with symbolizing the struggle of the natural world. The brisk snow in mountain shadows is tempered with the glow of amber brush, refusing to lay prostrate. This unwillingness to surrender to the elements is just as evident in the show’s characters. Hope is reflected through the title’s bold rust and gold, which radiate optimism and enlightenment. Injections of jewel tones further invite holiday cheer. Sapphire, lapis and emerald embody wishes of peace and prosperity for the new year ahead.
