Color EQ: Orange

Dubbed yellow-red until the 16th century, orange received its current name with the introduction of orange trees to Europe from Asia.  By the 21st century, studies in Psychology Today found the scent of oranges reduce anxiety.  This may be why the color is demonstrated to boost aspiration, enhance feelings of contentment and aid in decision making.  Orange is believed to increase physical appetite and oxygen supply to the brain.  Bold and dynamic, its also used to signal danger: safety cones, life jackets, and prison jumpsuits all dutifully shaded in eye-catching orange.

Our Buzzr branding package highlights playfulness.  A saucy marmalade and cider game button springs text flamboyantly back into air.  The backdrop awash in the warmth of marigolds at sunset, this uplifting palette is stimulating, yet welcoming. Radiant tints fuel the sport and spice of retro game shows.

Fivestone appealed to the infernal side of orange for the villain frame in Pop Culture Quest‘s main title.  In colors reminiscent of a tiger, orange becomes arrogant and alarming.  Here, the antihero is savage and ferocious; the overindulgence of deep orange cuing psychosis.

Compare oranges to oranges with these nostalgic gameshows.
